Dust off your scanner, lift the lid, collect items around your studio, and pile them on the scanner bed. Scan.
I prefer a dark room to emphasis a dark background when I do my Scanner Art. Scanners have adjustments in the software i.e. light/dark, inverse color, resolution size, and other knobs and switches. It is convenient to use all of these adjustments at the time of your scanning. Photo shop may be used for post production when necessary.
1. Still-lifes are produced by arranging your items on the scanner bed and scan.
2. Moving and rolling the subjects in unison with the scanner's light bar as it scans, makes a wild performance photo. The outcome can be startling and unexpected.
3. Scanner Safety:
A. Becareful not to scratch the scanner's glass.
B. Treat the glass as carefully as you would with your camera lens. Do not clean the glass with anything more harsh than your eyeglass cleaner.
C. Protect your glass bed from food or syrupy subjects with plastic wrap.
